Restaurant Olive in Greifswald

Small but nice. Cozy restaurant with very good cuisine, very friendly staff and a subtle atmosphere. The partially open kitchen stands out and lets the visitor take a look behind the hygienically friendly backdrops. Despite the appropriate corona measures, you can have a good time here.

A few days ago I went to the 'Olive' restaurant for the first time and I have to admit that I am really impressed. The food was so tasty; Each of my companions expressed themselves very positively about the dishes. The atmosphere was also pleasant, as it was very quiet there and the hygiene guidelines (also with regard to the corona pandemic) were also perfect. I can recommend everyone to dine there if you want something a little more noble.

This hotel is really not recommended. I'm a frequent traveler but I've really never experienced anything like it. There was no sign "do not disturb" and so the room was entered and cleaned up every day. A laptop was cleared from the bed, which was just creating a backup and thus the backup was destroyed and the hard drive was damaged. When I complained about this, the southern owner said "We do not respect the privacy of the room guests. For security reasons we go into the rooms when we want". Incredible this attitude. Since I was booked for several days, I then asked if I could be given a quiet room for the later period (there were 3 days between my two bookings) and got this answer. "Dear Mr. Möller, You have requested that we provide you with a quiet room on the courtyard side, as we do not have this request and would like to avoid further complaints, we have canceled the room, we ask for your understanding. "This was written to me on a Friday at 3 pm and I should have checked in again on Sunday The crowning glory was a hotel bill in the form of a receipt with a table number and 3 orange juices a 1.50 euros on the bill. They cost extra for the breakfast included. But that was never mentioned before. Greifswald is real a great city but the Hotel Olive is definitely not one of the great impressions. Never again!

That was probably one of the most unpleasant experiences ever. But one thing at a time: On the occasion of our wedding day, my husband had booked a table in the aforementioned restaurant. Since my dog ​​is always with me, we took her in the hope that it would not be a problem. If so, we would have taken her back to the office around the corner. We arrived in the olive. The reception was generally not heart-warming. My husband asked about the reservation, the man (cook, owner ... he never introduced himself) hardly paid any attention to us and pointed into the room and we should just look for a place. We did that too, but before we could sit down, we were asked in a not very polite tone whether that would be our dog. We answered in the affirmative and were then roughly referred to the restaurant without the question of whether we could come back without a dog or without any other polite communication. The sound makes the music and the man was either absurdly overworked or totally arrogant. But extremely uncomfortable. Even a complaint to the staff had no result. Do not get me wrong. A dog is not a MUST in a restaurant, but politeness and communication. We will probably never find out what the food is like now, but a little tip from a Greifswald woman ... in the Goldmarie you can eat excellently AND you will still be greeted warmly.

We were in the hotel, not in the restaurant. The room was ok, the bathroom could be improved (shower partition with curtain, exhaust air extremely loud). Due to the weather there was nothing in the garden, so quiet, that could be different. WLAN for working with VPN unusable. Breakfast ok, but nothing special either. Central location in the city. Overall, clearly too expensive for the performance.

nice food, nice atmosphere, good service

Nice ambience on the terrace and very attentive and courteous service! I had 3 courses that were perfectly portioned and arranged. The menu harmonizes great and has a nice selection for everyone. Everything tasted wonderful and I would love to come back to try more delicious dishes from the menu. Thanks and keep it up!

Nice little restaurant, a bit tucked away behind the Greifswald market. Open kitchen, Mediterranean food, small menu but nice selection. As a starter we opted for a house-style starter plate, a mixed selection of antipasti, plus two types of butter and bread. It was delicious, but a little too cold. Would have been perfect if one or the other component had been at room temperature. The main course is fried salmon cubes with cherry tomatoes and penne as well as the swordfish steak with spinach and nut risotto, great quality and large portions, not very cheap but definitely appropriate. Unfortunately, the cook had put zucchini and bell pepper in the noodles, it was meant well, but there was an intolerance. It could happen and it wasn't a drama, it tasted anyway. Nice wines to choose from, as well as Duckstein, unfortunately from the bottle and a bit too cold. The restaurant was lovingly decorated and the staff were also very polite without being intrusive. Amazingly, we were the only guests, only when we paid a couple came, which is a shame. Conclusion: With us there was nothing to complain about, price-performance ratio fits there and you should definitely try it out.

Very nice ambience, excellent service and very good food are just a few of the points that make up the restaurant. There is a small selection of Mediterranean dishes that are beautifully presented and taste top match. The only downer is the hard chairs. These invite, in my opinion, not to linger.

Very nice atmosphere to enjoy a delicious meal. The service was very friendly and we had a nice evening. Come back anyway.

Have good experience with the hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms small but well maintained. Here and there could be a revision of the equipment. The bathrooms are very small and not very comfortable. Breakfast could use fruits and vegetables. Price performance overall.

Food in the restaurant was very good. Parking with luck. Hotel room normal. Breakfast normal. Coffee very good. 4 stars for parking space search as a hotel.

Very good Mediterranean cuisine in the slightly higher price segment, but it remains affordable. Everything freshly prepared in the glassy kitchen. Very friendly service in a sophisticated atmosphere. Reservation, especially on Saturdays, recommended. Closed Sundays. Nice beer garden, partly under vine leaves.

Very nice little hotel. Cozy rooms, comfortable beds, big TV, very friendly staff. Unfortunately no air conditioning but very quiet room. Very clean and tidy. Almost directly on the market square and short distances to the harbor. I would like to come again.

I can only agree with the other reviews, the food is really gorgeous. Some unfortunately with a lot of garlic, which is a pity.

The location is great, the breakfast is adequate but not very extensive. I really liked the soft breakfast eggs. My room was a bit worn but clean. At least the bathroom would have to be renovated again. The silicone joints in the bathroom should urgently be renewed. I did not find any WLAN, but I did not ask for it.

Simply great ? I think the development is great when you look back 10 years and see the result ... just great?. Modern, uncomplicated, clean, simply perfect. If you want a family atmosphere, you want to feel right at home here. The rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfortable ?. I'm very positive about what the future will bring. I wish the Olive Team a lot of fun and even more positive feedback for many more years. Thank you very much ☺
